Craniosacral Therapy

When I first started this workshop, I was very much excited to share the people I love with the families I get to work with.

I first saw a craniosacral therapist after a client of mine met with one. Florence, the wonderful woman you’ll meet in the video below, treated both my friend and her very young baby and they both responded so well to the treatments. My client, the birther, experienced really deep relaxation both mentally and physically and was also included in Florence’s study on diastasis recti. The craniosacral appointments came at a time where this woman was experiencing high anxiety and that’s why she actually recommended that I see her too; my client and I had become fast friends and I absolutely trusted her recommendation.

The entire craniosacral experience, which is a branch of osteopathy, was out of this world and I wish I could even begin to describe the experience, but imagine gentle movements and adjustments both on and around your skull as well was on and around your hips, and with each touch and modification, I could feel energy moving, lighting up, flowing, being released. It was incredible. My client had a similar experience but describes it as more of a deep, heavy falling into rest whereas mine was definitely more active and spiritual.

Even if you’re not interested in craniosacral therapy yourself, and I wish wish wish you would try it at least once before you decide if you’re into it or not, it’s an incredible tool for infants. I’ve attached a link to a video below where you can see an ostepathic-craniosacral treatment on an infant and the woman in the video does an *incredible* job explaining why it’s such an incredibly powerful and healing modality for infants, solely based on the anatomical experience of being born. That part of the video starts just before 7 minutes and I’d recommend taking a watch.

In my opinion when should a baby see a craniosacral therapist? Always. The fact that infants have such moldable skulls and that they’re in such a small, tight, enclosed spaces for so long, it’s likely that they need a little help straightening out and adjusting once they’re finally born. I’d suggest that all babies do it; those who are born vaginally, babies from a cesarean birth, babies with tongue ties, those who are exclusively breastfeed, those who are bottlefed, babies who are born or who only sleep in the bassinet, colicky babies, those who don’t sleep well, those that are exceptionally gassy or the opposite, who don’t poop too often; osteopathy promotes overall wellness and can be incredibly healing and helpful as your baby goes through some really incredible growth in the first 12 weeks of their life.

So now you get to meet my girl herself, Ms. Florence Bowen. I’m sure you’ll love her just as much as I do and if/when you’re ready to book with her then I’ve left her contact information down below too.

That’s it! Questions, comments, concerns, you know where to find me.
