CST is a gentle form of bodywork that helps to identify and treat common
but challenging issues that a baby may experience. |
Treatment is especially helpful for babies who are:
- having difficulties feeding
- showing signs of or being treated for reflux
- favouring one side while feeding, sleeping or during tummy time
- having difficulties sleeping or linking sleep cycles
- experiencing excessive gassiness or stomach issues
- showing signs of colic/unexplained fussiness
- recovering from birth (instrumental deliveries, cesareans, induction, prolonged or precipitous birth, resuscitation, intubation, separation from birther, malposition during labour, etc.)
- hitting milestones such as rolling, crawling or sitting up without assistance
Treatment information
When I arrive at your home, I will begin with a health history for the birther and an intake about pregnancy, birth and life with baby. Then I begin assessment and treatment however baby is most comfortable -- either in your arms, in my arms or on a safe, flat surface. The CST session may include intra-oral work, especially if there are any feeding issues. Shifts will begin to happen during treatment but will continue to happen well after I leave, so I will provide you with home-care exercises to help support that process. Babies benefit most from 2-3 sessions, and I recommend the first 45 minute follow-up treatment 3-7 days after our initial appointment.
