It might look a little bit different if it's been a cesarean birth, so please talk to your care providers to make sure you have an idea about what the procedures will be like.
Questions to ask might be:
  • How soon after birth can I do skin-to-skin with baby?
  • If I can't do skin-to-skin right away, how soon after birth can I/my birth partner do skin-to-skin with baby?
  • Is cord clamping delayed at all? *(If it's something you're interested in and the answer is no, maybe the next question would be, "Can it be delayed if that's what we'd like?")
